Dr. Barakat, Minister of Higher Education, discussed today with Dr. Mohammad Fargali, Assistant Secretary-General of The Arab League and the Director General of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (based in Alexandria), relations of mutual cooperation in the field of science and marine studies. The meeting also addressed reality of educational and scientific research at the academy branch in Lattakia and its contribution to the educational and scientific cadres through expertise, knowledge and science in the area of navigation, maritime transport and marine engineering.
Dr. Barakat stressed the importance of cooperation between the two sides to resolve all the issues relating to the application of the rules adopted in the Higher Education Council to ensure equivalent certificates issued by the academy. He also emphasized the fact that we need to have graduates of high qualifications in a way that achieves the common interest of our educational institutions as well as the Arab Academy for Maritime Transport.
Dr. Fargali presented an overview of the most important activities undertaken by the Arab Academy in the field of marine studies reiterating his commitment to the continuation of scientific cooperation between the two sides.
