Dr. Barakat, Minister of Higher Education, discussed with Mr. Paul Doubleday, Director of the British Council in Damascus, a proposal for extending the agreement of Capacity Building signed in 2002 for a period of five years so that we can send graduate students to study in Britain... They also reviewed the possibility of establishing new departments at the Syrian Universities in the fields of Ecology, Applied Linguistics, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Informatics and Biotechnology.
The two sides stressed the importance of developing mutual scientific cooperation through workshops and forums as well as quality guarantee of higher education.
It is worth-mentioning that Ministry of Higher Education, in collaboration with the British Council, has established a training workshop at Aleppo University about quality guarantee of academic programs based on educational output. |
